2009 MacArthur Fellows Named

The 2009 MacArthur Fellows were just announced and two VQR contributors were among the twenty four fellows named: UVA creative writing professor Deborah Eisenberg and University of Washington writer-in-residence and poet Heather McHugh. Commonly referred to as the “genius grants,” the fellowships include $500,000 over the next five years, “no strings attached.” Other book-related fellows include novelist Edwidge Danticat and papermaker Timothy Barrett of the University of Iowa’s Center for the Book.
