In the Summer 1968 issue, VQR published Isaac Asimov’s review of The Double Helix by James D. Watson. Asimov was already a renowned science writer of both fiction and nonfiction, most famously his Hugo Award-winning Foundation Trilogy. In the final weeks before publication, VQR editor Charlotte Kohler sent a final version of Asimov’s essay to him for review. Asimov’s humorous letter, shown here, is his response regarding his self-proclaimed “well-written and entertaining” piece.
