Carol Muske-Dukes

Biography

Carol Muske-Dukes is a writer and professor at the University of Southern California, where she founded the PhD in creative writing and literature program. She is the author of several poetry collections, including Blue Rose (Penguin, 2018), Twin Cities (Penguin, 2011), and Sparrow (Random House, 2003), which was a National Book Award finalist. Muske-Dukes has also published two collections of essays and four novels. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Alice Fay Di Castagnola Award, an Ingram-Merrill grant, several Pushcart Prizes, and a Witter/Bynner Award from the Library of Congress. Her work has appeared in the New Yorker, the American Poetry Review, the New York Times, the Yale Review, and elsewhere.
