
Rebecca Solnit
Biography
Rebecca Solnit is the author of numerous books, including a trilogy of atlases and the books Men Explain Things to Me (Granta, 2014); The Faraway Nearby (Viking, 2013); A Paradise Built in Hell: The Extraordinary Communities that Arise in Disaster (Viking, 2009); A Field Guide to Getting Lost (Viking 2005); Wanderlust: A History of Walking; and River of Shadows: Eadweard Muybridge and the Technological Wild West (Viking, 2003), for which she received a Guggenheim Fellowship, the National Book Critics Circle Award in criticism, and the Lannan Literary Award. A product of the California public education system from kindergarten to graduate school, she is a columnist at Harper’s.
